Biography

Jincheng Liu is a linguist specializing in Chinese syntax and semantics. His dissertation studied the synchronic structure and diachronic development of the aspect marker -zhe in Chinese. His research interests focus on Chinese syntax and semantics, the history of the Chinese language, second language acquisition of Chinese, and Chinese pedagogy. He has co-authored Eyes on China, an intermediate-advanced modern Chinese reader published by Princeton University Press (2019), and several articles in the fields of Chinese syntax and second language acquisition of Chinese. Prior to joining Notre Dame, he taught at Princeton University, UC Davis, and Princeton in Beijing (the intensive Chinese summer program of Princeton University).
