Biography
Chengxu Yin is a Teaching Professor of Chinese. She specializes in Chinese language pedagogy. She has taught beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of Chinese language courses. She received a Certificate of Distinction in Teaching at Harvard University (1994). In 2016, she received the Rev. Edmund P. Joyce, C.S.C., Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching at University of Notre Dame. She was one of the inaugural members of the Kaneb Center Course Design Academy at Notre Dame (2019). She was also the inaugural recipient of Ursula Williams Fellowship at Notre Dame (2014–2015). Her research interests include second language acquisition and foreign language teaching, with a particular focus on course design and implementation. She has received multiple grants for her research and published journal articles.
Prior to joining the Notre Dame faculty, she taught at Brandeis University, Harvard University and Johns Hopkins University. She has also taught in the Summer Chinese School at Middlebury College and Beloit College.
