Notre Dame's Global Leadership Team, composed of 19 leaders located on five continents, gathered on the football field to accept the Presidential Team Irish Award. The Study Abroad Team and NDG program staff led identity panels and peer-to-peer storytelling events for students during the University's annual Study Abroad Week. Notre Dame Rome forged a partnership with the institutional body responsible for preserving and enhancing the city's historical and archaeological sites. The Global Engagement Programs Team welcomed its largest ever cohort of visiting international students, including 68 international students from 18 countries. The Notre Dame Jerusalem team taught a community engagement course discussing multi-faith perspectives on the Holy Land, and Notre Dame Kylemore convened local experts, NGOs, and members of the community to learn and share biodiversity best practices.

South Bend
The Global Leadership Team (GLT), representing the University's 12 global locations as well as NDG's on-campus units, was awarded the Presidential Team Irish Award on behalf of the entire division. This achievement highlights the outstanding collaborative efforts of more than 200 professionals spanning five continents and their continual efforts in advancing the University’s mission and values on a global scale.
Rome
Notre Dame Rome signed a three-year agreement with Rome's Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, the institutional body responsible for preserving and enhancing the city's historical and archaeological sites. The collaboration provides Notre Dame faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students, with privileged study and research access to the newly opened Parco Archeologico del Celio, which houses the Forma Urbis Severiana (III century AD) marble map of Rome.
Global Engagement Programs
Global Engagement Programs welcomed its newest (and largest ever!) cohort of visiting international students with 68 students hailing from 18 countries. ASAP and Exchange students spend a semester or academic year at Notre Dame, fully immersing themselves in the American undergraduate experience and becoming part of the ND family.
Study Abroad
The Study Abroad Team organized a peer-to-peer storytelling event where former study abroad students spoke with students who were in the process of applying. Notre Dame's global location staff were also on campus during the week's events and were able to provide insight into their respective locations. Afterwards, students were invited to participate in a series of Study Abroad Identity Panels, wherein past study abroad students discussed the ways in which their identity impacted their experience abroad as well as the challenges and opportunities it presented.
ISSA
ISSA hosted its supplemental “BeyoND Orientation” series throughout September. The Football 101 session was taught by Senior Fellows Miggy Camacho and Jimmy Michel (who is also an International Ambassador) and welcomed 33 international students and scholars. Main goal of the session: make sure all attendees were ready to cheer on the Fighting Irish together this season!
Kylemore
Partnering with Green Sod, an organization committed to preserving Irish biodiversity, Notre Dame Kylemore brought together local experts, NGOs, and members of the local community to learn and share about biodiversity best practices.
Mexico
As part of Notre Dame Mexico's study abroad program in Puebla,15 pre-med students visited partner organization Child, Family, Health International (CFHI) in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca to learn about various facets of the medical field. At the end of the day they stopped by a turtle camp and were able to release turtles into the ocean.
Dublin
Together with Poetry Ireland, Notre Dame Dublin hosted the launch of “Citizen Poet,” the never-before-collected (and some never-before-seen) works of poet and essayist Eavan Boland, published on what would have been her 80th birthday. Writers and artists Doireann Ní Bhriain, Paula Meehan, Mary O’Malley, Maureen Kennelly, and Marina Carr shared their favorite memories, stories, poems, and prose of the indomitable Eavan Boland.
Hong Kong
Notre Dame Hong Kong has been actively recruiting at various college fairs at local high schools. We are super thankful to our exchange students and alumni who have helped to share their ND stories with our prospective families.
Jerusalem
Gabriel Mitchell, director of undergraduate studies at Notre Dame Jerusalem, spent the week in Rome in order to teach a Community-Engagement course for ND Rome students entitled “Perspectives of the Holy Land from Rome.” Together they discussed multi-faith perspectives on the Holy Land and met with senior representatives of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre and the Order of Malta.
London
Like the rest of the Notre Dame family, the Notre Dame London community gathered to celebrate the inauguration of Fr. Bob Dowd, C.S.C., as the University’s new president. Staff, students, and faculty were joined by a group of alumni pursuing graduate studies in the United Kingdom at the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, and the Royal College of Art.
