The Department of History, the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, and the Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies invite faculty, students, and staff to a lecture by Elisabeth Köll, Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, for a lecture entitled “China as an Emerging Market around 1900: Competition, Knowledge Transfer, and the Issue of Nationalism”. The lecture will take place on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 12:00pm in 208 DeBartolo Hall. Lunch will be provided.

Elisabeth Köll is an Associate Professor in the Entrepreneurial Management unit at the Harvard Business School. She received her PhD in Chinese Business History from Oxford University where she was a Rhodes Scholar. She is the author of From Cotton Mill to Business Empire: The Emergence of Regional Enterprises in Modern China (Harvard University Press, 2004). She will be joining the Notre Dame History Department in Fall 2015.
